Support for students during the first days of the school year
How and when to collect the ENS-PSL multifunction card
For new normaliens, make an individual appointment on the “Administrative procedures” page in the “My return to school” tab to collect your card from August 28.
For new master's students, you must first finalize your administrative registration. Once validated, an email will be sent to you with all the information to collect your multifunction card.
All card withdrawals are made at 45, rue d'Ulm.
What does the School access card allow me to do?
This card is essential for:
• access all or part of the School premises depending on the student's assignment,
• access the School’s libraries and borrow books,
• access the School's restaurant and cafeteria.
It is the equivalent of the student card and is valid proof to benefit from student discounts (in museums, cinemas, transport, etc.).
How do I access the School’s restaurant and cafeteria?
You can access the restaurant as soon as you obtain your multifunction card and after crediting your restaurant account:
• by reloading the account from the intranet. “Restaurant account reloading” procedure on the School intranet,
• by bank card at the automatic terminals located at the entrance to the restaurant and in the cafeteria. Remember to ask for your receipt during your first visit (by default this is not given to users) in order to retrieve your identifier number which appears at the bottom of the ticket.
For the cafeteria, you can pay with your multifunction card or by bank card. In the restaurant and in the cafeteria, it is not possible to pay in cash.
Schedules
• Restaurant: Monday to Friday from 11:40 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Cafeteria: Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Reopening and prices
Reopening on Monday September 2, 2024
Students registered at ENS-PSL benefit from a specific rate. This rate will be automatically taken into account on your multifunction card 24 hours after its issue. You can access the restaurant without, but at the “exterior” rate, i.e. €11.30.
How can I retrieve my login credentials to access the school's digital services?
For new normaliens, make an individual appointment on the "Administrative procedures" page in the "My return to school" tab: on this occasion you will be able to retrieve your identifiers to access the school's digital services.
For master's students, your login info will be sent to you by email.
Outside of the orientation days, you can collect your login info from the offices of the Digital Educational and Scientific Center (NPS): F028 and F029, blue passage, ground floor of the Rataud building.
What digital services are available to students and how can you benefit from them?
The ENS-PSL provides various digital services to normaliennes, normaliens, masteriennes and mastérians, most accessible thanks to your ens.psl.eu email address and login info.
Here are the services available to you:
A WIFI connection on site
It is accessible using your identifiers.
If you have not received them, you can obtain them from the Computer Resource Center (CRI). Send your mobile phone number, your date of birth and the front copy of your ENS-PSL multifunction card toassistance-cri@ens.psl.eu.
A mail address
An email box with an address <first name>.<last name>@ens.psl.eu is created when you register. Remember to consult it regularly.
Self-service computer rooms with printer
Access is via your username and password.
• Panthéon campus: at 45 rue d'Ulm, Info 3 and Info 4 rooms on level 1 of the NIR and near the War Memorial
• Campus Montrouge: 7th floor of Tower C
• Jourdan campus: ground floor Hypnos building
The Intranet

Software
Via the ENS-PSL, you can access 2 scientific software programs for free (Mathematica, Matlab). To do this, you can contact the service at nps@ens.psl.eu .
I have a disability: what are the plans for my arrival at the School?
A representative is there to answer your questions and inform you about the resources dedicated to you. You will find all the information in your dedicated space, on the intranet (you will need your ENS address to access it).
How to obtain a registration certificate?
A registration certificate is available in your student space in the Pegasus application as soon as your administrative registration is finalized.
Please note, to finalize your registration you must have provided all the requested documents and have paid the registration fees (€210 for the DENS and €243 for the Master). You must also have paid the student and campus life contribution (CVEC) by going to the site https://cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr/ .
Educational information
How to participate in back-to-school events?
You will be able to choose the different presentations and activities you wish to attend via the My agenda section . You will receive an email during the month of August allowing you to access this platform.
Which sessions are mandatory?
It is obligatory for all new arrivals at ENS - PSL to:
- attend the welcome day for first-time entrants on Monday September 2 (for international students and exchange students, an English welcome day takes place on Friday August 30);
- follow a “Prevention and Safety Training” session : three slots available, Monday September 9 from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday September 10 from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. or Wednesday September 11 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.;
- follow a “Training in the prevention of gender-based and sexual violence” session : 3 sessions in French available (Saturday September 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday September 7 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday September 12 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.), 1 session in English on Saturday September 7 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.;
- follow all the sessions of “ Major issues of ecological and social transition ”: these courses are compulsory for all first-time entrants to the ENS-PSL (except exchange students). Sessions will take place on Tuesday September 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Thursday September 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
They must also participate in the presentation of their future department, as well as other department presentations if they wish.
ENS masters students must attend their master’s back-to-school meeting.
What are the conditions of access to libraries?
Access to each library requires specific registration. To pre-register online, go to the website www.bib.ens.fr , in the “pre-registration” tab.
Arrival in the rooms
(for normaliens living on campus)
Where will I be accommodated?
The majority of first-year normaliens will be housed at 45 or 44-48 rue d'Ulm, and around thirty of them will be housed on the Jourdan campus (48 boulevard Jourdan), very close to the Cité Internationale Universitaire. from Paris and a stone's throw from Montsouris park. The distribution is carried out by drawing lots by the General Delegation.
All people who have requested accommodation at ENS will be informed by the DG in August of the campus where their room will be located. Those who will be on the Jourdan campus will be able to go directly there on the day of their arrival, to pick up their key at reception and get settled in, before going to 45 rue d'Ulm to collect their card multifunction by appointment.
From what date is it possible to access your room?
Arrival is scheduled for August 28, 29 and 30 . You collect your key at the same time as your multifunction card. It is essential to make an appointment via the “Administrative procedures” page in the “My return to school” tab of this site. Please note, there are no slots open on Saturday and Sunday.
Essential prerequisite for recovering a room key : having sent a RIB and a bank direct debit authorization to hebergement@ens.psl.eu when confirming your arrival at the School and the accommodation request. If you have not yet done so, you are invited to do so without delay.
How is your arrival at ENS?
• If you are staying at rue d'Ulm : your keys will be given to you from August 28 , at the same time as your multifunction card. To do this, simply make an appointment on the dedicated platform then, on the day of your appointment, come to the Weil room (ground floor of 45, rue d'Ulm, Panthéon campus).
• If you are staying at Jourdan : your keys will be collected at the Jourdan campus reception. It is advisable to choose an afternoon slot for collecting your multifunction card and to dedicate the morning to settling into the Jourdan boarding school. You will be able to leave your personal belongings in your room before coming to Ulm to collect your back-to-school card and tote bag. An email will be sent to you at the end of August with all the useful information.
Is there a concierge solution for my luggage?
There is no concierge available for baggage drop-off.
Can I benefit from a temporary parking space for a vehicle?
Each ENS-PSL campus has one or more car parks with regulated access.
Campus Panthéon
• Parking at 46 rue d’Ulm
To occasionally access this underground car park, contact the DG at dg@ens.psl.eu who can give you a parking card in exchange for a deposit (ID or €20 in check or cash). This loan is authorized for 8 days, non-renewable. The badge must be passed at the top of the ramp, the bottom reader only opens the door halfway, for pedestrians.
Longer or more regular access to the parking lot at 46 rue d'Ulm is possible for a limited number of vehicles. To submit your request, it is imperative to complete the online form on degetteweb , print it and return it completed to the DG, with the necessary documents (in particular an insurance certificate). If your request can be satisfied, in the following working days, your ENS card will be activated for parking access.
Longer or more regular access to the parking lot at 46 rue d'Ulm is possible for a limited number of vehicles. To submit your request, it is imperative to complete the online form on degetteweb , print it and return it completed to the DG, with the necessary documents (in particular an insurance certificate). If your request can be satisfied, in the following working days, your ENS card will be activated for parking access.
• Parking at 45 rue d’Ulm
It is possible to occasionally access a parking space. To request this, send an email, at least one working day before the desired access day, to the central security post of the Panthéon campus ( securite.pantheon@ens.psl.eu ) indicating: surname, first name, number contact number, reason and vehicle registration number, desired date for parking.
• Jourdan Campus
The Jourdan car park is reserved for Jourdan staff. However, for a move it is possible to take the fire route at 46 boulevard Jourdan as briefly as in exceptional circumstances.
To do this, send an email at least one working day in advance to the Jourdan lodge ( securite.jourdan@ens.psl.eu ) clearly indicating name, first name, contact number, reason, and vehicle registration number, desired date for parking.
Is there wifi in the rooms?
The rooms are equipped with a network socket: there is no wifi network in the boarding schools.
You will need to have your own RJ-45 network cable 3 meters long (or even 5 meters depending on the layout of your room).
Wired connection details are specified on the intranet.
How do I manage my postal mail?
If you are accommodated on campus, you have a postal address at 45, rue d'Ulm, 75005 Paris. Be careful not to forget to specify your room number so that the mail service can deposit your letters in your locker on the Ulm campus or the Jourdan campus.
Please note, setting up the lockers generally takes a few weeks. Before that, you will collect your mail from the mail center opposite the main entrance of 45.
Where can I find the boarding school regulations?
On the intranet which everyone can access once they have obtained their computer credentials.
By moving to the boarding school, you agree to respect this charter.
Who should I contact if I have any questions or special requests?
You can consult the FAQ of the general student delegation, and if necessary send them an email at dg@ens.psl.eu . You can also contact the accommodation center athebergement@ens.psl.eu .
Who to contact in the event of an emergency, technical problems or work?
You can write to the logistics department athebergement@ens.psl.eu , copying the general delegation ( dg@ens.psl.eu ).

• Damage, technical problems, necessary repairs?
For any problem in the room (or common areas such as the kitchen) requiring technical intervention, you can report it to travails@ens.psl.eu , copying the general delegation ( dg@ens.psl.eu )
In the subject of your email, clearly specify the problem, and in the body of the email do not forget to indicate your thurne.
• Replacement of equipment, presence of pests
If you encounter a problem that does not require technical intervention, you can report it to the logistics department via hebergement@ens.psl.eu by copying the general delegation ( dg@ens.psl.eu ).
Please note, the logistics service does not take back beds or lend additional mattresses.
